I worked with fellow animators Anthony Lucas and Paul Gehrig in a business called Oddball Animation and we each did an animated bumper for the music video tv show, MTV Australia. We did them pro bono as a way of showing our wares and to get more work. Shot on a 16mm Bolex, edited on a 4-plate Steenbeck. We sneakily placed our business logo hovering over the characters at the back of the stage. After we sent them in, and had not heard anything for awhile I rang them to see if they had received them. The voice on the other end said, "Er..what ?Oh..yeah..er yeah we got them..er..thanks.." click. Though it seems pretty common with me, on a lot of jobs, that I have to chase after a "Thanks, yeah, I got it".
