A.A.M. (Marloes) Hubers delivered this presentation at the sixth World Congress on Huntington's Disease, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, September 16, 2913. Hubers, 23, started medical school at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) in 2008. She soon became interested in neurology and psychiatry and got involved in the Huntington’s disease (HD) research group of the Psychiatry Department of the LUMC in 2010. She focused her research on suicidality in HD and started her Ph.D. on this topic in September 2012, aiming to study sociodemographic, clinical, and biological correlates and predictors of suicidality in HD. After publishing the article ‘Suicidality in Huntington’s disease’ in the Journal of Affective Disorders, based on the HD cohort of the LUMC Psychiatry Department, she expanded her research to the REGISTRY cohort of the European Huntington’s Disease Network (EHDN). Hubers is also an active member of the behavioural phenotype working group of the EHDN. She is planning on finishing degrees in epidemiology and medicine after completion of her Ph.D.
