Here is a short film, an homage to nature, and moments of tranquility and calm. I was looking to unplug the viewer from the intensity, speed, and stresses of todays techo-society. Before I lived in Japan this music was an early introduction to me of the beauty and depth in Japanese traditional music, scroll-painting and haiku.
The musicians are truly extraordinary, Tony Scott, clarinet, Shinichi Yuize, Koto, and Hozan Yamamoto, Shakuhachi. This improvisation was a very early effort, pioneering the fusion of instruments, and was recorded in 1964 in Japan.

‘Moment of Calm’ was filmed around my studio near Seattle, November 2009. I welcome your comments.
