Self-critical as well as even more critical of Istanbul's cultural sector, Anne Weshinskey set out to juxtapose the prevalence of sharp class distinctions in Turkey. Believing that Turkish people in the cultural sector have an aversion to the intermingling of classes, she attempts to make fun of both patriotism and classicism while at the same time acknowledging that pride is not the same as either of these.
