Seed’s 2nd Year Anniversary Art Exhibition
Psychotropia Art Exhibition @ Seed Gallery took place from September 24th - November 13th 2009
The theme of “psychotropia” reflects upon that which is psychotropic. Something that is psychotropic is that which acts on the mind, revealing its deeper nature and the infinite aspects of the psyche. The art that was displayed was psychotropic in that it brought our audience closer to their own deeper collective. The content of the works are mind revealing and can be considered to express mystical states of consciousness, shamanic experiences, visionary states of the mind, repressed dark imagery, fears, hopes, fantasies, etc. Our goal was to bring together an impressive array of artists, who’s art forms not only deliver quality in content and design but also act as a portal for spiritual exploration, inspiration, healing, revelation and psychotropic research.
Claudia Lady Bird Johnson once said, “Art is the window to man's soul. Without it, he would never be able to see beyond his immediate world; nor could the world see the man within.” Art is meant to elevate one’s understanding of himself and the world around him, instantaneously taking him/her into a higher level of consciousness. In “Psychotropia” we created a unique and awe-inspiring environment that was meant to transcend the self beyond the beyond. Art works varied from paintings to sculptures, to digital prints, collages, installations, animations, and much, much more.
