Experiment for ARTD 379. The assignment was to shoot three one-minute videos - no other criteria was provided. I decided to present my three clips simultaneously, by selecting three twenty-second segments and alternating their frames. The viewer is bombarded with three mundane scenes and must focus on one color (red, green, or blue) in order to recognize what is taking place. The momentary relief of focusing on a particular clip is short lived as the stream of information continues so quickly. This rapid presentation of bland "relaxing" moments is meant to portray both the passing of time, the anxieties of daily life, the fleeting relief of downtime, and the meaninglessness of it all.
Shot on a Canon t3i at 640x480.
