"The faster the change, the more violent the reaction."
The Guardsman is the thirty-eighth short from Wingless Films, and stars Tom Menary as a keeper of the peace who experiences one bad day. Directed and shot by Jim Elton, the film explores the idea that one small slip can have devastating consequences.
The Guardsman was shot with the cooperation of the staff at Royal William Yard, a former naval victualling yard in Plymouth, in August 2013. James Cotter (A Dark Tale, Improperly) features as a victim of the guardsman's frustrations. Make-up was provided by Alex "Lexi" Gilbert, with costuming by Liam Docherty and location photography by Rick Stear. The original score was composed by Tom Menary. The film was completed with thanks to Debby and Gemma Stear, Dan "Loki" Brown and Jason Olver.
