This is a short film I made during a 3 week trip to Canada in June of this year. I was part of a guided tour with 13 other people, and it was fantastic! We travelled around Alberta and British Columbia, finding all the beautiful lakes and scenic shots to be found in Canada, and there is a lot!
Its actually a photographers paradise! I have been to Canada twice now and I cannot wait to go back soon, maybe even migrate one day so I could have all this natural beauty at my front door. I visited a lot of the same places on my recent trip but this time I time-lapsed everything.
There is only so much impact a still image can make, and I used to get frustrated when I go on these adventure hikes in Canada and America etc and hike these big arse mountains and when I reach the top I sometimes feel that the still image I capture does not do the ridiculously gruelling hike any justice!
Whereas this time when I got up at 3am to get to Lake Moraine for sunrise, I set up a time-lapse and was blown away by the footage.
You just cannot compare it to a still photograph.
I am totally in love with time-lapse and I cannot wait to go to my next destination and shoot. I am hoping to get better and better with each film that I produce, learning and picking up tips along the way.
I must also take this opportunity to thank my good friend Russell Charlton- Ricks for providing the awesome music. I think the song is great and works really well with the film. I am so grateful for having talented friends!
Please go check out Russell's page and listen to his music, it is brilliant!
Russell is so cool he is even in a band called Little Donkey and they totally rock!! Be sure to check them out.
