This band lives a few doors down from me. Ever since I bought my house in Long Beach, Ca I heard the brothers Mark and Alex jamming in their garage. We started talking one day and I showed them my home studio. Months later they came to me about recording them and asked me how much for 2 songs? I gave them a really good price and even told them I'd throw in a free music video. I basically was giving them 50% off what I usually charge. I just wanted to stoke these kids out and give them a break. Well the joke was on me because after spending waaaay too much time on the project they told me they had no money to pay me. At the same time they told me they had no money, they'd try to bro out with me and basically brag about stuff they were buying (Gopro's, Knott's Scary farm tickets, Grand Theft Auto, etc). They were obviously not the smartest kids, and I was starting to feel like they weren't planning on paying me. One day (weeks after I finished the project they didn't have money to pay for) I saw the singer and he waved to me as he was rolling out some new rims for his car. At that point I was over it and decided to make a dance remix of their song, and a couple hours after I posted the video to youtube... It went viral.
