I invited 5 dancers, 5 musicians and 5 camera operators to come into the exhibition space of 'Infinty: Time and Process' and asked them to improvise in relation to everything in the space. This film is the result.
The exhibition was curated, by Rachel Guthrie and Myself, so that all of the works interacted across the square space. Using sight lines and connections with aspects of the architecture we arranged the work so that it set up conflicts and harmonies around the room.
It seemed interesting to invite other arts into the space and see what happened. To see how dancers interacted with the work and the space, how filmmakers interacted the musicians, how the work and space changed in relation to the music. Everything playing off everything else in a contained space. There were no time restrictions just freedom to play and the jam went on for several hours.
Thanks to the Bermondsey Project for the use of the space.
And a huge thank you to Pete Coggan at First Light vimeo.com/user6164139 http://www.wearefirstlight.com for all his help.
