Here is just a super quick test I did with my new Kodak Zi8 Flip style camera.
I also did a quick comparison to my $800 Cannon HV30 HD cam

I had 1 pro key light set up and it was done in my home studio real quick. I will do some tests outside next.
Also I didt do any tweaking to the audio, but need to remove some hissing noise/feedback next time. Or I might have had the gain up to high on the device?
I did use imovie/Quicktime to convert the clip to x264 and 1 channel mono so it would fit here on Vimeo since I have a 500MB limit.
