Here's a mini tutorial that I recently presented at the NPVA meeting in Dedham, MA. An audio compressor is a useful tool when the dynamic range of your wedding soundtrack is too wide. If used correctly you won't be "gain riding" using the Pen tool or rubber banding your audio like crazy.
Use the least amount of compression as necessary to minimize artifacts and know when you've gone too far. Experiment, listen and let your own ears be your guide.
