The “Sword of the Spirit” is Paul’s representation of 1) The Word of God, and 2) The convicting, prodding work of the Holy Spirit. Scripture alone is our guide. It is our only rule of faith and practice. You might notice that the script the narrator uses in the film is entirely Scripture. This is obviously intentional. We have our foundation in Christ alone. Christ’s letter to us is what the unsaved need to hear to then repent, and put their faith and truth in Christ. But how will they hear without a preacher? This lesson is not primarily about evangelism. But it will lay the groundwork for you, as the teacher, to encourage your students to put feet to their faith and actively use the sword of the Spirit.
