Towards the end of July, my Grandmother fell terribly ill and my parents and I had to travel up over night to the Orkney Islands to be with her and the family in what became her final days. Whilst on the island, I occupied myself by filming the incredible scenic views to try and distract myself from it all. It was my way of dealing with this tough time but it was also because I wanted to somehow document the journey we had taken. When I returned home, I found it difficult to edit the footage because of the memories each clip held, but eventually I was able to produce this short film. This is my tribute to my Grandma.
I had never really understood why my grandparents moved up there in the first place, because most of the times we visited, it was either raining or foggy, or both. But in the couple of days I spent up there on the Island, I finally understood why they chose to live in Orkney.
