The Global Peace Women's Cookstove project provides families in Sub-Saharan Africa with clean cooking stoves that prevent indoor air pollution. The indoor air pollution produced by these stoves kills an estimated 4 million people per year and does untold damage to the environment. In Sub-Saharan Africa indoor air pollution is the third largest cause of death and the number one killer of children under the age of five.

Women in each community are trained to build the cook stoves and thus have the knowledge to fix them and produce more.
