Several years ago SwedishAmerican made the commitment to bringing a world class cancer care center to Northern Illinois. About two years ago, Brian Reck asked us to start thinking of ways to introduce the new SwedishAmerican Regional Cancer Center (SARCC). Working with The Rudosky Agency and writer George Chalekian, we came up with four different concepts, each emphasizing a different aspect of the new center.
This spot, ‘Commitment Decades’, presents the SARCC as the extension of SwedishAmerican’s commitment to cancer care over the years. Cancer patients often spend many hours getting their treatments, and we get to see that many of the new areas in the center are designed to help make patients as comfortable as possible.
We also spend time during this spot showing off the SARCC's architecture. We shot time lapse shots of the hospital numerous times, usually at sunrise or sunset. Our DP, Shawn Hiatt, usually shot these with multiple cameras, each set at different intervals, and some with a motion controlled dolly. The crane shots were done with a Perry Perkins’ MovieTech which allows the cameraman to operate almost 30’ up.
Jay Evans did a great job allowing us to get all this into :30 seconds, Mel Matsuoka did a great job of color correcting on the DaVinci Resolve, and Deb Miller did the motion graphics.
