"What a Difference You've Made in My Life" sung by Ronnie Milsap

Since its inception in 1998, the United States Blind Golf Association (USBGA) Junior Golf Program has experienced steady growth. As it begins its new year, well over 5,000 students and adults have been introduced to blind and vision impaired golf through our junior golf program. This is a tremendous accomplishment, but our program is far more than just numbers, it is about the one-on-one interaction between a PGA professional or volunteer instructor and each individual golfer. It is quite a thrill to see students who have been told all of their lives that they cannot do this or that, to learn to hit a golf ball.
The USBGA Junior Golf Program is about inclusion. It will help the students be active, increase their social skills and in reality, be a microcosm of the emotions they will experience in their lives. They will be challenged, feel success, feel failure, be happy, be angry, and truly feel frustrated like all golfers. Our hope is that many of our junior golfers will continue to participate in golf and ultimately play competitively in USBGA sanctioned tournaments down the road. If not, at least they can participate in a sport, with the help of a coach, throughout the rest of their lives.
