The latest installment of our 'The Sound of Clothes' initiative saw us visit the studios of Mary Katrantzou, Sibling, Piers Atkinson and Matthew Williamson ahead of their S/S 14 shows to record the sounds of them making their collections. The many noises were edited and remixed into music tracks that give a unique audio take on the collections and capture the diversity of London Fashion Week.
In the first release Stu Sibley has remixed sounds recorded in Sibling's studio during the run-up to their fifties-inspired Spring/Summer 14 Sister by Sibling collection. Captured noises include knitting machines working, a linker being used, crochet needles clinking, garments being adjusted on a stand and an overlocker in action. Some sounds appear exactly as they were recorded, others have been distorted.
