Technology is the term we use for new tools that are developed to do things we already do now - it just allows us to do them better, faster and more accurately. At least in most cases. New technology such as social media also allows us to connect with more people, communicate faster and get messages across instantly.
How we use that technology is what matters. With a new "cyberbullying" case being reported in the news this week, we find out what that is and why it matters. The first high-profile case of "cyberbullying" happened in Missouri and it ended with a teenage girl, Megan Meier, taking her own life. This week, her mother - Tina Meier - sits down with Mike and recalls that chain of events. More importantly, she shares how her experience can spare another family the pain hers has endured. Tina now runs the Megan Meier Foundation, which educates students, parents, school administrators, law enforcement and anyone else in the community who will listen about bullying through social media.
