On average I get to look at nearly a hundred apps and games a week. And one thing I’ve noticed is how little attention gets paid to the visual aspect of them. Sure there are the big ones that invest in it, but most focus on the idea and game play, ignoring the art. So it’s pretty rare that I come across a small business that’s created a great app that is creative, easy and fun to play, but also artistically stunning. And that’s what I got when I tested out the Hidden Artifact Agency by Hullabu for your iPad. In the game you’re an agent that works on cases of missing artifacts. When a case falls on your desk, you travel around the world finding clues, interviewing people, searching cities, and solving puzzles. The game is a blast and worth checking out alone, but the art is what really caught my attention. The pieces are alive and interactive – sometimes weather is an issue, other times you’ll just hear the details…like a door creaking open or wind rustling the leaves. But back to the game – when you’ve solved a case, it’s not like you’re finished. Each case leads into the next. And the company comes out with a new case at least once a month, so you wont get bored. The Hidden Artifact Agency is fun, beautiful, and definitely takes advantage of the retina display on an iPad. Oh and did I mention it’s free? So to download it, head to hullabu.com today.
