This is an excerpt from a longer collaboration with video artist Rosemarie Padovano.
Chroma brings us into the subconscious of a blind piano tuner who has synesthesia (or joined senses) in which note and color are involuntarily entwined in the mind's eye. As he pulls and pushes each note into tune, we are led through a perceptual journey that writes the memoir of his sighted childhood, where vivid colors and musical vibrations react against the void of his vision. The moving, stuttering, reflection of the full moon on the water guides us through the notes vibration and reminds us of the watery substance of our vision.
Chroma opened at Momenta Art in Brooklyn, NY momentaart.org/
