In this succinct interview with 2013 Stanford “Medicine X” Attendee Dr. Wendy Sue Swanson, interviewer Michael A. Weiss of the Crohn’s Disease Warrior Patrol and Dr. Swanson discuss what she “gets” from attending “Medicine X” year, after year.

As a Pediatrician, Mom and Executive Director of the Center for Digital Health at Seattle Children’s Hospital, Dr. Swanson wears many hats but somehow she finds the time, and has the patience, to listen to, and learn, all she can about the integration of technology and healthcare. To that end, she leaves “Medicine X” each year inspired by what she’s learned and motivated by the “connections” she’s made. She then takes all that back to Seattle, Washington and integrates her new knowledge into both her Medical Practice and into the Center for Digital Health at Seattle Children’s Hospital where her motto is: “It’s time to live in the future now.”
