Patrick Dougher conducts this edition of The Business Spotlight with Kimberly Evans, Agent Recruiting Specialist for State Farm Insurance.

According to Kimberly, State Farm doesn’t want to inconvenience your life, and the first year especially can be quite difficult as you build your business. State Farm collaborates with their agents - like a farmer - they will give you the land, but it’s up to you to work the land and raise the crop. “If you really don’t want to work the business you really didn’t want it in the first place,” she says.

“It really comes down for support,” she says. State Farm does not want to put candidates out there, and just bring in your friends and family. They will pay for your licenses, give you a line of credit, and support in many ways to get you moving in the right direction to reach your dream.

If you think you have what it takes to become a State Farm agent, contact Kimberly at or through her website at
