In 2007 , the Writers Guild of America had a New Contract up for negotiations. The Big issue on the Table, was New Media - the Internet. Movies and Television Shows were just beginning to be reused and viewable on a computer. The question up for negotiation was who gets paid and how? When the negotiations between the AMPTP and the WGA broke down, for the first time in over 20 years the writers picked up picket signs and walked out.
