Uberact worked with Felix’s Machines to create an interactive live music performance. Microsoft’s Kinect technology enables audience members to control percussive sounds by pointing at different instruments. Kinect tracks the position of an audience member, then coordinates are put into a 3D simulation so that a calculation can be made to determine chosen instruments. Coloured lights provide visual indicators and with the seemingly magical movement of the instruments, the outcome is an abstract and dream-like musical experience.
Felix’s Machines and Uberact made a one-off appearance at Modern Jago Digital Shoreditch Festival.
