The DeKalb Co. [GA] Board of Health held a free H1N1 vaccine clinic at the old DeVry campus in Decatur, GA Saturday, 11/21/2009 from 9am to 3pm. The shots were for those in the high priority groups. They had 2500 shots. By 2pm, only about 800 had shown up, so they opened it up to anyone for the final hour.
At 2:30 there were no waitng lines. One only had to fill in a one-page form. Those receiving the shots were asked to wait 15-20 minutes in a waiting room, to assure no adverse reactions.
In a short video clip, Bernard Hicks, Emergency Preparedness Manager, states another clinic at the same location may be held after the first of the year if the H1N1 virus is severe during December.
H1N1 shots can be obtained any DeKalb Board of Health center during the week. This clinic was for the convenience of those who cannot be at these clinics during the week.
