Ryan Blair double winner in the MX1
Abdulla Al Shatti and Mohammed Jaffar winners in the MX2
A total of 25 riders from ten different nationalities registered for the third round of the Losail MX Championship held today at the Losail MX track.
In the first race of the day, British rider Ryan Blair was the winner in the MX1 category with a Kawasaki bike. ‘The track is very good, it is a world championship track, very well prepared and I had a lot of fun. I had a problem in the start but I managed to overtake Al Balooshi and win the race. I am very happy with my performace as it is my first race after 3 years, good to be back’ Blair sad after winning the first race.
KTM rider Mohammed Al Balooshi from UAE came in at second position while Kuwaiti Moaath Al Ansari also with a KTM was third. Al Balooshi was leading in the first few laps but Blair overtook him and lead until the end of the race. ‘ It was a good race for me, I lead for 3 laps but I was not comfortable with the jumps. When Ryan passed me, I just settled forsecond place, tomorrow I go to Bahrain for Motocross round 1 and I defend the title so I have to ride smart today and no mistake.’ Al Balooshi said after the podium ceremony.
For the MX2, the Kuwaiti rider Abdullah Al Shatti with a KTM finished in first position of his category. Hassan Al Nooraldin from Bahrain and Saeed Al Shenqiti from UAE ended in second and third place respectively.
Abdulla Al Shatti said that the competition between him and the Emirati and Bahraini riders was very tough. ‘It is my third win in a row and I will continue riding hard to to win the champion at the end’ he said.
Saeed Al Shenqiti thanked to QMMF for the good job in the track all the arrangements and the improvements in the track and he hope to participate in the following rounds and be again in the podium’
In the second race, Ryder Blair won again in the MX1 category from the start till the end. The second place was for Moaath Al Ansari from Kuwait and Mohammed Al Balooshi was third.
In the MX2 category, the winner was Mohammed Jaffar from Kuwait ’ In the first race I made a bad start, I felt down and I had a problem with the clutch and my mechanics fixed it properly. In the race 2 I get it ready and happy to win it. I found the track very nice and well prepared, really thanks to QMMF for all the works on the track’ Jaffar said at the end of the podium ceremony. The second place was for Abdulla Al Shatti and Saeed Al Shenqiti was third again.
At the end of the event Mr. Nasser Khalifa Al Attiya thanked to all the riders and the competitors for participating in this round. He also thanked the organizers for the set up, the LIC and QMMF staff for their job. ‘The level of the competition is getting better and higher and more riders from outside are taking part. I am very happy for this round and all this preparation is very good for the teams and the riders for the World MX Championship in March. It is a good practice for all of them. I am very happy that Youthstream organization is here to double check and see the level we have’, QMMF President said.
In the MX1 category, the leader is Moath Al Ansari with 119 points. The American rider Dennis Stapleton is second with 100 points but he didn’t take part today in this round. The third place is for Pierre Nakhla from Great Britain.
Abdulla Al Shatti is leading the MX2 category with 129 points and only 7 points behind, Hassan Ahmed is in second place. The third place is for Barak Al Jasmi with 106 points.
The next round will be on the 20th of December.
