On July 19-21, 2013, NOAA and the Aquarium of the Pacific co-hosted Ocean Exploration 2020: A National Forum. This was the first-ever such event and was a unique opportunity to help shape national ocean exploration in the coming decade. The Forum's participants (more than 110 ocean explorers) were challenged to identify key characteristics of a national program of ocean exploration in 2020. NOAA and UCAR (University Corporation for Atmospheric Research) hired me and several other filmmakers to document the three-day forum. This video, titled "OpenROV: Inspiring Exploration" features Eric Stackpole, co-founder of OpenROV and one of the Forum's participants.
