Hey! It's the 6th year of traveling around our beloved country of me and my best friends. We started out in 2008 as an escape from our toxic production life then and we've never stopped ever since. This year, we decided to go to Iloilo-Guimaras in the Visayas region and boy! were we surprised at how pristine and well-preserved the island of Guimaras is! The waters of Guimaras is probably one of the clearest and cleanest waters I've ever seen in our country and to think that not 9 years ago a massive oil spill almost destroyed this beautiful island. Now, you can barely see any damage of that nightmare in the island.
My friends and I rented a minicab to go around the island and we've visited some of the most simple yet beautiful sights Guimaras can offer. We went to the "Chapel on the hill" (I'll get back to you guys on the name. hehe), The Old Trappist Monastary, Adventure Park, Guisi Lighthouse, (the awesome secluded) Guisi Beach and we also went island hopping at Ave Maria Island, Natago Beach, Pawikan Island and the SEAFDEC Aquamarine sanctuary.
This trip was one of our most simple and laid back trips but it is also probably one of the best and fun trips we've ever had! Just so blessed to have found a paradise like Guimaras. Oh! and this was also the first trip I used my GoPro Hero3 and it is AWESOME! :)
Watch out for our trip next year. It would be the great Bicol Escape! :)
