The word “READ” was painted in black on an inhabited building.
The proceedings were interrupted on several occasions by the police.
Later on, the last tenant (not squatting) reported his intention to inform police against the works as he did not appreciate them. By mutual agreement it was decided that the work should remain in exchange for a small payment of the legal expenses incurred.
Months later it became the stage for photographic shoots, TV serials and films. This resulted in a much needed focus and attention for the neighbourhood as it was in a sorry state due to delays in the reconstruction and relocation of tenants into council housing.
At present this building no longer exists.
