During Summer 2013 artist Tommy Anderson and Helix Arts delivered a visual arts and music project for young people living in Throckley, Summertime JAM!, realised in partnership with Throckley Community Hall and Northumberland Clubs for Young People.

More than 20 young people took part in a series of taster sessions in art and music, after which they collectively decided to explore visual arts further, going on to create new artwork using macro photography, typography, action painting and more. The young people also worked together to reflect on Summertime JAM! and voice their ideas for the future of the arts in the Outer West of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Summertime JAM! was funded by Just Ask Me.
