NYU-Poly’s new Media and Games Network, or MAGNET, is a facility that’s already attracting some of the brightest minds in science, technology, and gaming… from around the world.
WPIX News 11 visited MAGNET—the new Media Arts and Games Network facility in Brooklyn. MAGNET is the home for NYU-Poly's MS and BS programs in Integrated Digital Media and its minor in Game Engineering. It is also home to graduate programs in Game Design (MFA, NYU Tisch School); and in Games for Learning (MS), Digital Media Design for Learning (MA), and Educational Communications and Technology (Ph.D.) from NYU Steinhardt School. WPIX interviewed MAGNET Professors Dana Karwas, Mark Skwarek, Katherine Isbister, and Frank Lantz, and also see new technology being developed by Computer Science Ph.D. Candidate Michael Karlesky.
