The year was 1883 in a place called San Antonio, an untamed territory in Texas where oil was undiscovered and cattle was king. And so was the cowboy. It was here that a young Italian immigrant named Sam Lucchese brought his family to practice the Old World art of boot making. The soul of the Lucchese brand lies in the skill and finesse of its artisans. From start to finish, the human hand touches each pair of boots over three hundred times. Each pair of boots is hand lasted and takes at least eighteen days to complete. As the rest of the country turned to machines for producing goods, the Lucchese tradition, handmade artisan products, has stood the test of time. This film is a visual poem that pays tribute to the skilled men and women whose approach to their craft is both inspiring and beautiful.
