My mother, Beverly Cook, fought AML, leukemia, beginning July 11, 2006. She relapsed in April 2008 and under went a Stem Cell Transplant on Aug. 19, 2008. Her sister Evelyn was her perfect match. The SCT was a success and she had no more leukemia. After climbing up the mountain numerous times my sweet mother became very sick on Aug. 3, 2009. With only 12 hours given to live, she lived for nearly 50 days. September 18, 2009 was the saddest day of our family's lives, but also the happiest. Sweet mama passed away around 5:30 pm after battling infections, liver and kidney issues, along with bone marrow complications.
Mother touched the lives of many!! She was a witness for the Lord and not only told her testimony, but as her pastor said, "she was the first one he had seen in over 20 years to keep her promise to GOD!". She loved God, and knew that when her time come she was happy to spend eternity in heaven. Though we miss her GREATLY, we know that she is in the arms of Jesus! She leaves behind her husband, Gary (married for 37 years on Aug. 5), 3 children, Shanna, Nicole and Sean, along with Sean's wife Hannah and her only 2 grandchildren, Macy and McKenna and many family and friends!
WE LOVE YOU MOM! Always and Forever!
