Phalanx was a game project I helped spearhead. It was intended to be a different take on the futuristic, hardcore genre games like Unreal Tournament play into.
Unlike shooters, Phalanx intended to combine abilities and twitch-reactions on knowing when to use what. Certain abilities were intended to have counters, and those situations could always be manipulated by your physical location.
Unfortunately, the necessity of version control was learned the hard way, and after playing with the prediction code a little *too* much, the codebase broke beyond much repair.
This mod was intended for Valve's Source platform.
