Introducing Gary Andrishak of the IBI Group. Quoting the Danish professor Jan Gehl from a seminal book written in 1971, titled "The Spaces Between," Andrishak stated that a city is not the buildings alone, but the spaces between them that matter most.
Andrishak agrees with all of the policies on Little Mountain, developed through community engagement. Proving himself to be a master communicator, he invites everyone in the room to introduce themselves and proceeds to listen to community reiterate some of their ongoing concerns.
Joo Kim Tiah (Holborn’s CEO) keeps a low profile. Phillip Scott, Holborn’s new Development Manager announces new branding of the project as "The best new neighbourhood in Vancouver."
Andrishak was a lead architect on Arbutus Walk, a successful low to mid-rise development in Kits. You can view OUR tour of Arbutus walk in the ARCHIVE of the Consultation Process: 2010 to Today," Meeting #15.
Other subjects covered in the meeting were:
- The timetable of the Rezoning Process
- Employing swails to deal with excess water.
- Preserving the legibility and visibility of ground floor entryways in order to enhance community.
- Inclusive design that fits many generations of user.
