Culebra Cosmica is an abstract Visual Music composition edited and performed live with the use of Resolume and Ableton software. It is part of a larger research project into the crossover between Expanded Cinema, Visual Music and Latin American electronic music. It combines layers of animation and found footage to communicate the vibes behind the music which was composed before hand. For this reason the way the live instrumentation plays with the programmed and processed sounds reflects the way the found footage interacts with the digital elements.

As I was choosing what visuals may work well with the song I started thinking that there may be a theme of the inner fight between our better and darker selves. The composition evolves into a journey inwards that takes the viewer into completely different worlds where the battle continues but resolves towards the end. I am however very open to how other people may read this abstract piece, but it became significant to me that the blossoms filmed are located in a square in Bristol where alcoholics and junkies tend to hang out, but also where there are a lot of charities based whose whole work is to help people in need.
