Interestellar is a Visual Music composition for Acapulco Space Station, a project about the crossover between Expanded Cinema, Visual Music and Latin American electronica. It uses wholly digitally composed animations as raw materials but the version you are watching was "performed" live using Ableton and Resolume. Interestellar is a brash attempt to combine futuristic sound elements into influences that come from neo-cumbia, whilst combining some of the rhythms and bass-line taken from a more minimal electro approach. This piece is all about the imagination and there is no intended narrative or hidden meaning behind the abstract visual elements, yet the theme that remained central to this piece was the sense that I had composed an animated galaxy, dancing away in the void.
