Thanks to a new district initiative thousands of students with limited access to computers will be able to check out laptop computers to bring home. This week, the district kicked off its Connect for Success initiative, which is aimed at providing economically challenged students with equal access to technology to support their learning outside of class. On Wednesday, about 100 third- and fourth-graders and their parents attended training sessions at Gulfport Elementary School, where they learned how to use the computers before bringing them home.
