I added 3-foot runners to the bottom of my sled and tested it on a 9 mile trip in the Willamette Pass area. I started on the C.J. Way, a difficult trail with a lot of side hills, then took the Pacific Crest Trail to Midnight lake, a trip that rolled my old sled several times. The runners kept the sled in place, even with 65 pounds of gear. A success!
