A story about (what we are) searching
He is an artist, permanently seeking for an elemental but elusive force - inspiration. Lost inside an endless dance he‘s trying to approach it. And he loves Eurydice, because she gives shape to his longing. She also loves him and seeks for his presence.
But in the end, what they will find may not be what they believed looking for.
Two dancers and two musicians meet. They interact with an expansive, moving sound installation which could be underworld, inner world and musical instrument at the same time. Working as bridge or barrier between two human beings, it is a playing field of distance and closeness, seeking and finding.
Nine artists of different fields came together to create this unique theatre project, in which each part stands face to face on the same level
Lisa Horvath (AUT) - Idea, Production, Stage, Costumes
Will Dickie (UK) - Dance
Jessie Servenay (FR)- Dance
Matej Bunderla - (SLO) -Saxophone
Margarethe Maierhofer-Lischka (GER)- Double Bass
Klaus Seewald (AUT) - Direction, Production
Andrés Gutierrez (MEX) - Composition
Marian Weger (GER) - Sound Design
Peter Venus (GER) - Projection Designer
Our aim was to find out how theatre could work, outside of conventional structures. We wanted to find a new form of theatre, using a complex stage installation as a starting point for our piece. I tried to create a kind of structure in which the interplay of the different artistic elements can unfold. Choosing flexible materials, the performers are able to interact with the stage and to change its form.
Projections and incorporated lightning add another dimension and create new spacial impressions.
I also wanted the stage to work like a huge sound instrument. Like this, the sound layer is either connected with the dancers. Music can be changed and created via movements, but at the same time is provoking them.
