The personal stories of objects

4 storytellers have been invited to bring an object that has an extraordinary personal story attached to it. The selected participants represent a broad spectrum of professional disciplines and fields of interest.

Meredith James received her BA from Harvard University and her MFA in sculpture from the Yale School of Art. Her work has been shown at Marc Jancou Contemporary, LaMontagne Gallery, Interstate Projects, LAXArt, NurtureArt, David Castillo Gallery, The Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts at Harvard University, Newman Popiashvili, The Graduate Center at CUNY, and Rivington Arms. She has received fellowships from Vermont Studio Center, Lighthouse Works, Bemis Center for Contemporary Art, and Sculpture Space and she attended Skowhegan School for Painting and Sculpture in 2011. She is currently an artist-in-residence at Abrons Arts Center on the Lower East Side.
