Hi, I’m Belinda Smith and thanks for visiting us here at The Root Cause.
I am a wife, a mum of 2 and a health coach. I am a firm believer in the universe, mother nature and I am in total awe of the human body.
I have started The Root Cause because I want to share with you what I have learnt from first hand experience about the impacts stress, overwhelm and depression can have on your body and your family.
Along my journey I have discovered that stress is The Root Cause of these impacts, I have also discovered the massive links between what you eat and how it can affect your mood and behaviour. After making changes to the way my family eat, I have now experienced this first hand too.
But for now, I just want to share that the expectations we set on ourselves as parents, and the pressures we allow society to place on us can lead to unnecessary stress. Your body, including your mind is an incredible machine, but it is not designed to be under constant stress. Add to this a gradual change in the quality of foods being marketed to us, and what we have is a recipe for poor health long term.
As parents, we do the best we can, until we know better, then when you know better, you do better.
So the aim of The Root Cause website is that every time you visit us, you will learn something new, that allows you to do something better. So keep dropping by because now the website is live, I have a forum to start writing about all the awesome stuff I have learnt along the way to becoming a health coach.
