Electric Midwife is a Bessie Award winning contemporary dance piece by choreographer Beth Gill for six female dancers with live sound by Jon Moniaci and lighting design by Madeline Best. This intricately structured work uses mirrored symmetry as a single overarching choreographic design in order to instigate a meditation around the elusive experience of perception and sensation. This work sample is a montage of clips from the premiere at The Chocolate Factory theater, NYC, June 2011. The original performance run was designed for a limited audience of 14 people arranged to view the work from it's central axis. Since then the piece has toured both nationally and internationally.
