Richard Sagrits Museum, Karepa
8 Channel audio
A piece for the exhibition titled The Storm(Torm) at the Richard Sagrits house museum. Location specific installation using sound as substitute for a physical medium. Rethinking the famous woodblock print by Hokusai "The Great Wave" and its association with the title of the show and the exhibiting location close by the Baltic sea in a spacial non-visual form. The viewer will have a chance to experience an acoustic wave of destruction passing through the room at the speed that an average wave on a windy day near the Karepa beach would travel.
SSSS is a collaboration project between artist Sten Saarits and composer Sven Sosnitski. The duo work with audio-visual space installations. The first collaboration project was an installation piece entitled „SSSSI: TheGreat.wav“ or "The Great Wave" which is represented graphically when writing down both of their initials together.
