Jocelyn Dohm founded The Sherwood Press in the summer of 1940, after graduating from the University of Washington. For 63 years, she ran this small letterpress shop in Olympia, Washington with occasional after-school help from students, her 'printer's devils.' In 1989, nearing graduation from Evergreen, Jami Heinricher began a fourteen-year volunteer apprenticeship with Jocelyn, and inherited the business when Jocelyn died in 2003. Today, she works with her partner Terry Bunce, continuing and expanding the craft tradition and service orientation of her beloved and esteemed predecessor. The Sherwood Press specializes in branding, and the design and printing of business cards, stationery, product labeling and social announcements.
