In 2011, a catalytic event took place that changed my life forever: I moved to California from my hometown, Mexico City. Many things have happened since then. And here I am, two years later, looking back through the memories recorded in my camera. In a way, California Daze is a depiction of this experience seen from my perspective. At the same time, however, I tried to leave out any recognizable faces or myself, as part of the subject matter of this piece because I want the viewer to focus on the concept of space and how fleeting it is, just like each moment and image on the screen.
