"The Fly Guy" presents 'Modified Czech Nymphing Rapids'.
This video show's a bit of my Brad Modified technique. Czech nymphing in it's pure form does not utilize a thicker fly line, but if you like to have the fly line on for indicating purposes and your fishing does not require the ultimate stealth of no fly line then go ahead and utilize this modified technique. Here I'm using a 6+ foot tippet tied to the leader section tied to the fly line. I try and keep the fly line out of the water most of the time to not spook the fish and to keep a slight bit of tension on the line so I can feel the hit of a fish. On the 6 feet of tippet I have a bottom fly (second most weight), and one foot from the top of the tippet I have a dropper line tied on and the lightest fly of the trio, and then midway between I have another dropper line with the heaviest weight fly on it (the middle fly is the heavy weight fly). OK, now watch the video for any other tidbits and to see how friggin' excited I get when I get a fish on. FISH ON!
