FAITH- A film by Daniel Warren
In a joint project between ATLAS and the National Galleries of Scotland, young people in Skye were asked to explore the theme of faith using William Hole’s mural depiction of St Columba Addressing the Picts [on Skye], 597 AD (1895-1901), as their inspiration.
Working with the National Galleries of Scotland, SkyeDance & Sabhal Mor Ostaig, ATLAS presented a series of workshops investigating sites on the island associated with St Columba’s mission. Participants worked with mentors to imaginitively recreate this moment in Scottish history. The workshops explored the power of miracles to shape belief, consider issues such as migration and origin, and ask questions such as ”What would a modern day miracle look like?”
The Nation//Live-Faith is part of a nationwide project organised by the National Galleries of Scotland. Five communities accross the country will participate in the project, each concentrating on a different theme.
