The 29 Broadway project is a two part installation, “Curtains” and “Time is Money, But Also Money is Money.”
“Curtains” is an art piece for the waiting area of 29 Broadway’s penthouse office. Two backlit thermoformed acrylite sheets create the appearance of flowing fabric window curtains. The contrasting rigidness and high gloss of plastic in-turn plays with the familiarness of how we believe everyday objects are supposed to appear and feel.
YP was also asked to create a solution for privacy in an adjacent glass walled conference room. Reactive film creates the ability to toggle via remote, a solid frost on the glass. When the frost is off, ”Time is Money, But Also Money is Money,” is revealed, a quote by the owner’s favorite author, William Gibson.
